People without DID
- People without DID are my users, so I need to find out what do they think about DID and how much do they know about DID.People with DID
- DID patients can help me to understand better about their feelings, either good and bad. I could also find out their feedback for my idea.Psychologists
- Psychologists such as therapist for DID patients can give me some insights from another angle.Families/friends of DID patients
- People related to DID patients are also very valuable for some questions like how to diagnose the disease in an early stage and some issues we need to pay attention to in DID patients’ lives.
Interview and survey:
- I’m Alex. I’m 19. This body is 19 but I’m 13. Because Jess(host) is 19.
- So, switching is like…drifting into a different dimension. And you like, dissipate into a nothing. Like a ghost. Only if we are both co conscious and we’re both willing can I switch on command.
- There is a difference between the mental hospital and the mental facility. Mental hospital is like inpatient where you are basically admitted in the hospital and they take care of you like intensely. They see you every single day, they have to put you on the meds and stabilize you. But the mental facility like now I’m in a long-term facility and they allow technology and your personal stuff.
- My boyfriend is all of ours. Well Casey and Quinn are gender-fluid. But we all love my boyfriend. They don’t feel annoyed because they know they are a part of Jess.
- Integration is where an alter merges and becomes one with the host.
- I think that DID is inherently a protective mechanism, so may be in some reason that can come out as scary but most of the time I think it is very innocuous.
- Yes an alter can die, we have think about integrating but half of us are saying yes it’s a good idea and half of us are saying no it’s a bad idea so we are still working it out with a therapist.
- I feel like DID is a temporary status like you have different identity or character when meeting with different people. It feels so cool.
- I have never been diagnosed as DID, but I think I have multiple identities, I mean does anyone who don’t?
